Cleaning Guidelines

For Classroom Chromebooks & Newline Interactive TVs

Chromebooks — Quick Steps

Use a cloth, never spray directly. Power off first.

  • ✅ Do  Power off before cleaning. Unplug if charging.
  • ✅ Do  Screen: wipe with a soft microfiber cloth (dry or lightly damp with water). Light pressure; straight, overlapping passes.
  • ✅ Do  Keyboard & outer case: OK to use disinfectant wipes (alcohol-based). Wring excess liquid out of wipes before use.
  • ❌ Don’t  Do not spray cleaner directly on the Chromebook. Apply liquid to the cloth—never into ports or keyboard.
  • ❌ Don’t  Avoid bleach, ammonia, abrasive pads, or paper towels on screens. These can scratch or cloud the display.
Tip for Shared Devices
Quick wipe at the start/end of the day. Disinfect keyboards between classes if shared.

Newline Interactive TVs — Quick Steps

Cloth first, cleaner on cloth (not screen). Power off before cleaning.

  • ✅ Do  Power off the panel before cleaning. Let it cool; warm glass shows streaks.
  • ✅ Do  Use a soft microfiber cloth (dry or slightly damp with water). Light pressure; wipe in straight, overlapping passes.
  • ✅ Do  For stubborn spots, use a screen-safe cleaner only (on the cloth). Never apply cleaner directly to the screen.
  • ❌ Don’t  No alcohol, ammonia, glass cleaner, or abrasive products on the panel. These can damage coatings and touch layers.
  • ❌ Don’t  Never spray directly onto the screen or into bezels/ports. Excess liquid can seep inside and cause failures.
Health & Safety
Allow surfaces to dry fully before powering on. Wash hands after using disinfectants. Store wipes and cleaners out of student reach.
