Use these steps to install the Konica Minolta bizhub C450i on a Mac running the latest macOS release (Tahoe / macOS 26). This guide covers downloading the newest Konica Minolta driver and adding the printer through System Settings.

Tip: The bizhub C450i works with native macOS drivers. If the vendor driver gives trouble, you can still print using AirPrint or a Generic PostScript driver.

Before you begin

  • Make sure the bizhub C450i is powered on and connected to the same network as your Mac.
  • Locate the correct printer IP address above in the Printer Legend.
  • You must be logged into a Mac account that can install software and add printers.

Heads up: If you previously attempted to add this printer and it’s failing, remove any old printer entries before installing.

Part 1 – Download and install the Konica Minolta driver

  1. Go to the official Konica Minolta Support & Downloads website:
    https://kmbs.konicaminolta.us/support-downloads/
  2. Search for bizhub C450i and select the model.
  3. Download the latest macOS printer driver package (PS/PCL).
Driver examples: “bizhub C650i/C550i/C450i PS Driver for Mac.”
  4. Open the downloaded .dmg, run the installer, and follow the prompts.
  5. Allow macOS to install the package (you may be asked for your Mac password).
  6. Close the installer. Restarting is optional but can help if printing misbehaves later.

Note: If the driver hasn’t been specifically updated for Tahoe yet, the newest macOS driver still works properly.

Part 2 – Add the bizhub C450i

A. Open Printers & Scanners

  1. Select the Apple menu.
  2. Choose System Settings.
  3. Scroll down and select Printers & Scanners.

B. Add the printer

Option 1 – Automatic discovery (preferred)

  1. Click Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax... or the + button.
  2. Wait a moment on the Default tab.

    • Select it.
    • Under Use, choose the Konica Minolta driver (e.g., bizhub C650i/C550i/C450i PS).
    • If unavailable, choose AirPrint temporarily.
  4. Click Add.

Option 2 – Add by IP address (recommended)

Use this method with the Printer Legend above to add the exact device.
Example: RCCS Main Office C450i → 10.80.2.25

  1. Click the + button.
  2. Select the IP tab.
  3. Enter the printer’s IP address from the Printer Legend.

    • If IPP fails, select LPD
  5. Name the printer clearly, such as bizhub C450i – RCCS Main Office.
  6. Under Use:
    • Select the Konica Minolta PS driver.
    • If missing, choose AirPrint or Generic PostScript.
  7. Click Add.

Optional – Set as default printer

  1. Open System Settings → Printers & Scanners.
  2. Under Default Printer, select the bizhub C450i you added.

Troubleshooting

  • “Printer not responding” or offline:
    • Remove and re-add the printer using the IP method.
    • Switch protocol between IPP and LPD.
    • Test using AirPrint to rule out a driver issue.
