Introducing Our Shorter, Easier Email Domain: @rsd105.com
Dear Reedsport School District Staff,
For many years, our district has used the official state-provided domain reedsport.k12.or.us. While this domain works reliably, it is quite long and can be cumbersome when sharing email addresses.
A couple of years ago, we acquired the shorter domain rsd105.com to make communication simpler and more modern. We have been using it quietly behind the scenes, and it's now fully set up for everyone.
How the New Email Addresses Work
- Staff emails: Your primary new address is typically firstname.lastname@rsd105.com
(Example: jane.smith@rsd105.com) - Student emails: All students have addresses at students.rsd105.com
(Example: brad.pitt@students.rsd105.com)
Important:
These are not new or separate email accounts.
Any email sent to your @rsd105.com address is automatically delivered to your regular Outlook inbox — exactly the same as if it were sent to your @reedsport.k12.or.us address. You don’t need to check a different mailbox or change how you read or reply to email.
Why Make the Switch?
- Shorter and easier to remember/share
- Looks more professional and modern
- Reduces typing errors when people try to reach us
You can continue using your current @reedsport.k12.or.us address indefinitely — both will work. However, we encourage staff to start using and sharing your @rsd105.com address going forward, especially on business cards, signatures, websites, and when communicating with parents or partners.
