📌 Pinning a Website as an App in Microsoft Edge

This guide shows you how to turn an ordinary webpage into a standalone app that can be pinned to your taskbar for one-click access.


Step 1 – Open the Website

Launch Microsoft Edge and navigate to the website you want to pin. (Example: the Reedsport School District’s homepage.)

Step 2 – Open the Menu

Click the three dots menu in the top-right corner of Edge.

Step 3 – Go to the Apps Menu

Hover over or click Apps to expand the options.

Step 4 – Install the Site as an App

Select Install this site as an app. Some sites (like YouTube or Spotify) will show their name instead of “this site.”

Step 5 – Name the App

Give your new app a friendly name (e.g., “District Website”) and click Install.

Step 6 – Pin to Taskbar

A final popup will appear. Make sure the box for Pin to Taskbar is checked, then click Allow.

Step 7 – Access from Taskbar

You will now see the website’s icon on your taskbar. You can rearrange it by clicking and dragging it to your preferred spot.

Tip: Apps installed this way open in a clean, dedicated window without browser tabs or distractions. Perfect for frequently used tools like iVisions, Synergy, or the Helpdesk portal.
