Installing and Configuring the Parallels Client for Reedsport iVisions

The Parallels Client (formerly 2X RDP) allows secure remote access to the Tyler iVisions Accounting system. Follow these steps to install and configure it properly on your Windows computer.


Step 1 – Download the Client

  1. Go to the official Parallels Client download page:
    Download Parallels Client, 2X RDP Client | Parallels RAS
  2. Select the x64 MSI version (64-bit installer).
  3. Click Download and save the file to your computer.
Warning: Only download the client from the official Parallels site. Do not use third-party links.

Step 2 – Install the Client

  1. Locate the downloaded .msi file (usually in your Downloads folder).
  2. Double-click the file to launch the installer.
  3. Step through the setup wizard using the default options.
  4. When complete, launch the Parallels Client from the Start Menu.

Step 3 – Create a New Connection

  1. On the first startup, the client will prompt you to create a connection.
  2. In the Server Address field, enter:
    ras-west.schoolerppro.tylerapp.com
  3. Click Next.

Step 4 – Name the Connection

  1. Enter a friendly name for the connection:
    Reedsport iVisions
  2. Click Next.

Step 5 – Advanced Settings

  1. Before finishing, click Advanced Settings.
  2. Fill in the following fields:
    • Username:tylerhost\129176.USERNAME
      Replace USERNAME with your assigned network ID.
    • Password: Enter your assigned password.
    • Domain:tylerhost
  3. Check the box Save Password for convenience.
  4. Click OK to save.

Step 6 – Connect to iVisions

  1. Click Connect to start the session.
  2. If prompted, confirm the security certificate.
  3. Once connected, select Accounting from the application list.
Info: The connection will now be saved in your Parallels Client. Next time, simply open the client and click Reedsport iVisions to reconnect.

Troubleshooting

  • Incorrect Login: Verify your username format is tylerhost\129176.USERNAME. Do not omit the prefix.
  • Connection Fails: Ensure your internet is active and the server address is exactly ras-west.schoolerppro.tylerapp.com.
  • Password Issues: If your password has expired or changed, update it in Advanced Settings before connecting again.
  • Client Not Launching: Uninstall and reinstall the Parallels Client (x64 MSI version).
